       Be cautious on lifepo4.

there is a guy on YT that opens them up many don’t actually have low temp charging protection thus they will get damaged at below 32F. Some are ok and are getting better for sure

U also need to get the larger sizes with a minimum 100A BMS to handle most cable lifts that use a winch motor however hydraulic lifts all use 150/230A so you will blow the BMS or it will stop outputting and you would need two in parallel and if you have 24v hydraulic then u need at least 4 batteries sometimes 6 on monster lifts $$$$

also These are all honeycomb structures so if you get a bad cell you avg joe would never know they loss 25% capacity.

For boat lifts $90 Walmart marine batteries is the max I’d spend unless you want AGM then go to Amazon and grab a Weiss or mighty max, the solar will also recharge the AGM about 1.5-2* faster so it’s like having a larger solar/faster recovery and in most cases you can downgrade one battery size with AGMa to have a lighter weight battery in the lift. Example I went from group 24 deep cycle to smaller AGM 12v-55A wheel chair size and works great and are smaller and lighter!

LiFePO4 will get damaged with significant charge current when below about 32F, but I seriously doubt the lift will be used then.  Note that discharge is OK when cold.  Since the battery will most likely be full when it gets cold, charge current will be very low.

Yes, quality of the BMS matters.  JBD makes 200A and 300A versions with temperature control (e.g. to run a heater blanket when the temperature drops, if desired).

LiFePO4 will allow full discharge, where lead acid is considered fully discharged at 50%.  In other words, you can get about 50Ah from your 100Ah lead acid, but you can get 100Ah from a 100Ah lithium.  Lithium also has a much lower internal resistance, so the voltage doesn't sag much at all under load.

The honeycomb comment/bad cell advice is wrong.  You will definitely know if you have a bad cell because the battery voltage will drop, just like it will with lead acid.  Besides, the BMS will report actual cell voltages to you if you care to see them.

If choosing lead acid, I would always go with wet cells over AGM in any non-portable situation.  The ability to check specific gravity and add water are definitely a plus when trying to keep the batteries around for a long time.

As always, do your homework before you buy.

      1) No front ballast. I just don’t understand this design decision. Why do we need a walk thru bow? It’s not a Bayliner. Nobody uses these boats like that. As a result, the nose runs a little high (with full ballast and wedge) for such a big, long boat. And to dial the wave in I found we needed to add lead up there anyway. It makes no sense to me that Malibu would change the ballast recipe on just ONE boat…

This is interesting to me / us.  We love the concept of a walk thru.  In fact jealous of the tow boats with it.  But wouldn't want to compromise with no front ballast.

I ordered from Amazon. Same Quicksilver kit but 50 dollars cheaper than Bakes Marine. Haven't put on yet given my code dropped this week, but expecting it to come back soon knowing my luck.

Holy crap.  $111 for a cap and rotor?  This is the Accel stuff on Amazon

You can't compare a 2019 to a 2023. You need to get back out in a 2023+ Malibu. Larger rudders now, so you can let go of the steering wheel in the 23'+ boats, even in surf left, and not have to fight the wheel. Malibu has had dual screens since what like 2007? And the 12" & 7" TOUCH screen came out in 2015... Standard Malibu trailer is a MALIBU trailer. Maybe a dealer was cheap and put Extreme under one or you saw a used one or idk what, but this is completely false info. Not disagreeing BoatMate isn't a nice trailer, but Malibu essentially copied them for theirs. Have had a 23' with 15 adults and rear still 50-75% ballast, surfing at 3600RPMS in an M5Di. M6 you'd be below 3500 RPMs. The PCM/Indmar in the previous Malibu's would scream, but the 2020+ with new trans, 17" prop and Malibu motors are extremely impressive.

I have quite a bit of experience in the 2022 and 2023 malibu and axis boats as i worked at a Malibu dealership as a service writer at that time while I took a break from my primary career.

When talking about the dual screens, I meant the side by side screens in the centurion dash vs the main display and lower right screen (2015-2019) and lower left in the 2020+. I like having both screens more in my line of sight in the centurion rather than having to look down at the malibu screen.  I will say i do miss the sport knob in the malibu to quickly mute or adjust volume when a rider falls rather than having to adjust the volume on the screen in the centurion but i am getting more used to it.

Standard trailer - I was talking about the standard trailer on the centurion being an Extreme and the Boatmate trailer being an upgrade.  The standard trailer with the Malibu is a Malibu trailer.

Surf RPM and ballast - probably no real difference in this area but i will say a deciding factor was my wife (who is an experienced driver) felt the centurion was much easier for her to drive, both loaded and unloaded, and felt much more comfortable driving.  15 adults in 23 LSV is impressive accomplishment of packing people in but I want no part of that.  7-8 people max is all we ever take without feeling crowded with coolers, gear, bags and towels.

We looked at both the 2023 and the redesigned 2024 23 LSV and with both boats we didn’t feel like we were gaining a lot to justify the additional cost of moving to the new boat.  My wife and I were both underwhelmed by the slight changes with the biggest upgrade being getting into an M6 boat vs the PCM 409 in our 2019 Malibu.  I will also say that the same 2024 23LSV we looked at and ran numbers on in July 2023 is still sitting at the dealership unsold (as of last week when I looked online).  From our perspective, looking at the materials used (vinyl, gatorstep and just the design of the interior) to the size of the wave and handling of the boat in rough water, the centurion just felt like much more of an upgrade for the additional cost.

These are all just my opinions based on our experience with the two brands.  Your experience and opinions will likely differ from mine.   We also did look at a 25 LSV but we are limited by tow vehicle size and the 25 LSV is just too big to pull with a half ton vehicle.

Same issue.  Same code.  Definitely has a misfire.  350ss 2013 VTX.  As far as I can tell the Monsoon 350SS is basically a marinized 350 vortec crica 1998.

Is there a place to get a cap and rotor and O2 sensors other than Malibu/Indmar?
