I was thinking the same thing. The cobalt dealer in Denver has been around forever. But they don’t sell very many boats.

I was really hoping this would be the case for MI. Colony Marine has locations in Macomb and Oakland counties and is a cobalt dealer... but I don't think its happening, they are sticking us with another oakland county dealership from what the rumor mill is telling me.

Huge bummer, was thinking Malibu might want representation on one of the largest lakes in MI with 150,000 registered boats.

He just spent 6 figures on a boat with a huge (understandable) complaint and we’re making a big deal about a few hundred to assuage his frustration?    People can surf all sorts of different size waves.  It’s much harder to ski all sorts of different wakes.

He didn’t buy Vtx to be competitive with bigger options. He clearly prioritizes the ski wake.  It’s a prop for crying out loud.

I am not saying don't do it - good idea to have a second / spare prop regardless.  However, I don't want to encourage any more shoot first, aim later scenarios that disappoint the OP.

    • Has anyone had any experience with slippery soft grip. I’ve already had several spills inside the boat and on the swim deck. Scrubbed all of it but doesn’t seem to help, any suggestions

    • Copper Antiseize is your best friend when re-assembling everything just FYI.  Then you won't have problems with bolts down the road.

If it’s the worst ever then probably the only option is to sell it and buy a real ski boat. 🤷‍♂️

      happy wife= happy life

I'm new around here... similar situation but I'm the one who skis and the rest of the family wakeboards and surfs.  12 years ago when I caught the slalom course bug, I looked at trading in my V-drive for a direct drive ski boat.  For the price that was going to take we ended up getting a well used but well maintained closed bow ski boat whose only duty is to run up and down the slalom course.  We just now traded in our 2008 Moomba outback V for a 2021 23 LSV and couldn't be happier.  I skied the LSV in open water last weekend and it was fun, but slalom course duty remains with the closed bow bubble back nautique.  We've been very happy with the two boat system.  It gets a little weird to explain to people why I own two boats but that's how it goes- I didn't want to break my neck skiing the course behind a crossover.
