Well aware, I've mixed it myself before, however there is a volumetric limit and adaptation range of the controls that can be exceeded by extreme blends.    Adding 100% toluene to 87 to get a tank of 91 would be extreme IMO.

I think that is definitely more true of ethanol than toluene due to the lower energy density of ethanol.

If I did my math correctly, raising 87 octane to 91 octane with toluene (at 114 octane) requires (91-87)/114 = 3.5%, or 4.5 ounces per gallon.  So one gallon of toluene per 28 gallons of 87 pump gas.

    • Crew,

When I click the boat from neutral into drove, I can here a noise in the vdrive or tranmission area. It's sounds like a fan blade barely hitting on something. It only happens in forward gear. When I accelerate it goes away. The noise doesn't happen in neutral either. My friend looked it up and thought it might be a damper plate. Any help is appreciated

    • Inspect the housing of the strainer, not just the cup! I had this crack one winter that I forgot to drain the strainer. I replaced the cup but still had water suction issues. Inspected further and found this. Once replaced I had no issues.

Before taking it to the dealer I would also buy a gallon of coolant and check to see if you can refill, run for a bit and refill again. There is probably air in the system. I also had a leak from the coolant cap at @csleaver mentioned that caused low coolant. Never got an over heating alarm but had a lot of fluctuation. I ended up adding an entire gallon of coolant over a few fill ups & runs.

When going back for the second time and removing it successfully, what kind of wrenches did you use and where did you place them? I can find anywhere good to hold the fitting pipe without damaging it by too much grasp force.

    • The RC cover goes over the module that is in the port rear compartment. Might not have been snapped on all the way.
