Thank you @Brandonloos21 for making my amp plugs for my 2023 M220! Went together seamlessly and the stereo rips!!

This supports what we are seeing as well with lift sales. wake boat market is getting hit harder than othr market segments.. all are being hit but tow boats are being crushed more..

@23LSVOwner wow! By far the best set of Malibu wiring diagrams I've ever seen. Do you have them for other years too?
  6. I once found a cross reference guide for my boat trailer but I cannot find it anywhere. I want to say the calipers were from a 70 something Chevy sedan? Anyways if anyone can help me find the parts I need I would really appreciate it!

Yep, I was talking to the “Malibu Segment” which includes Malibu + Axis… this is the most relevant to folks on this forum.
  8. Sorry, I forgot to add I did install new plug wires as well! And yes, I do run ethanol fuel. Would all these factors contribute to poor idle? Do I need a new carb?

    Left Over 2023 vs Used 2022's 23LSV

That’s a tough call in my opinion because options, colors, dealer relationship, etc would also weigh in on the decision. To me, maintaining a standing or creating a new dealer relationship is also worth money. How much? I think that’s completely up to each individual. Also, paying cash, half and half, full finance? Depending on how that breaks down for you could impact your delta too.
  11. All things being equal, after all the fees I would draw the line between $10k-$15k saved on a 2022 23lsv vs a leftover 2023. Sure you sacrifice an extra year of your warranty going used, but $10k buys a lot of boat gas and spare parts for 2028+. Good chance you sell it an upgrade anyway, let someone else take the loss on a new boat. If I was going to buy brand new I would order it custom and not worry about the money. And it would be a 240/25lsv/26lsv. I think the used market is better with the 23lsv vs new but that’s jmo.
  12. Looking at used 2022's & left over 2023's 23LSVs, at what price differential would you go with the new left over 2023 model vs the used boat? Assuming all boats are optioned close to the same & the used ones all have under 100 hours. I know I need to account for approximately $2K to get the warranty transferred. 10K, 15K, more, less? Let's hear it & the pros & cons? & not from Tommy's - fyi
  13. I have a 2017 Axis A22 with Monsoon 409 6 liter V8 (PCM Motors - Crusader Challenger Series Engine) I got this error : Fault code 1 SPN 94 FMI 1 First time fix - fuel pump Second time fix - burnt wire under the fuel pump relay termination board. First time I got this (3 years after owning it), I changed the fuel pump and it fixed my problem. The fuel pump is an in-tank pump. Pull the 8 screws holding the flooring in the middle of the boat down, and you will see the fuel pump right there. I believe it was 9mm bolts holding the fuel pump in. You will also need a FUEL LINE DISCONNECT tool. These are cheap plastic tools that you will need, can get them at autozone or on amazon, see link https://a.co/d/52BKPhY You will need the blue fuel line quick connect tool. The fuel pump model number will be on the top of it. Mine was - Malibu boats pn: 3020516.2 This one below will work. MALIBU/AXIS In tank Fuel pump-Gen4 (malibuparts.com) SECOND time I got this error (7 years after owning it - I thought easy fix, just change fuel pump again). This was NOT the fix. I was getting 12 VDC to the pump but it was not kicking on (made me think the new pump was bad too). After inspection of the relay board on top of the motor to the back left (ECM - Engine Control Module that has the fuse panel / relay board on top), I noticed a burnt spot on where the fuel pump relay was at. I was able to access the bottom of the board and see the burnt wire. If I was NOT able to do this, I've talked to many boat mechanics that had same issue and had to splice a new relay in, see link. https://a.co/d/frdDO7z I also had the wiring diagram from PleasureCraft Marine Motors for the ECM if anyone wants to get it, can message me to receive it. If you have any issues with your Axis, feel free to reach out.

This sums everything up well. It’s on of my favorite boats Malibu every made and I love skiing it.

I have one and it’s a great slalom boat. Seems to be popular with the barefooters as well. Note that this is one of the boats that was rerated due to the lawsuit and now is rated to hold 2 fewer people. Also no people up front while underway. as mentioned above, they will dip the bow very easily. Have to be careful to keep from getting wet. one thing to check out is the water box around the stuffing box. They are know to leak. They can be fixed, but good to know if that needs done or has been done already.
  17. I've always wondered if someone has been/or could be ambitious enough to install GSA style trim tabs on a surf gate boat. I realize the space probably isn't there to make it work easily, and you'd need smaller tabs than the standard GSA equipment, but what if you could have both and ability to fine tune the gate wave with a trim tab? That idea has always intrigued me. I have a few friends who won't buy Malibu/Axis boats because there are no trim tabs. I don't really agree with that sentiment but I do see how boats with tabs have some inherent advantages.
  18. Thanks for the advice everyone!

Those are excellent slalom boats. They are prone to dipping the bow under water pretty easily so if you're hanging out up there, do it in the no wake zone or prepare to navigate if/when the surf barges roll in. That year boat with those hours would have the ETX non-cat manifolds, which tend to corrode away and need new plugs welded in. Not a big deal, but something to check on. Look for any water leakage signs on the manifolds. That's the last year of throttle and shift by wire. Check the cables for both for smooth operation and ask if they've ever been serviced (including the endpoint doohickeys that attach them to the throttle). If you like it, BUY IT! Great boat from Malibu's hay-day!
  20. FYI, by the time you get a proper fill tool and coolant, it will still likely be hundreds to do it yourself.
  21. I have a call out to see if I could send in a spring to have spec'd and increased. The video on YT shows a tower, speakers, and two empty racks so it seems like that should be a functional baseline. Crazy thought but mine spring is out.... could it be that the springs are set too tightly and have been extended past max capacity? Would it make sense to try to "loosen" like it has a powerband or kick point for my hockey stick guys? @justgary thoughts on that? You seem to have some advanced knowledge if springs.
  22. There is an Allen head drain plug on the lower part of the heat exchanger facing the engine. Remove the plug to drain the coolant (I think a 9/32" Allen fits the plug). I highly recommend using an Airlift (or similar) vacuum coolant tool to refill the system. (My images are upside down today for some reason)

I know this is probably the biggest shot in the dark but if anyone could help me it would be GREATLY appreciated. I just rewired my entire 2008 Malibu Response LXi and I have 3 wires (only) that I’m not sure where they hook up, or if they hook up to anything at all. It was a real rats nest, and there were so many wires not being used, or just dead ended. Well it won’t let me post pics for some reason, so I guess my question, is there a wiring diagram or schematic I can get (I’ll will pay) from someone or somewhere?
  25. Faulty batteries or voltage drop from loose/corroded connections are a common cause of many electrical problems. Start by checking the condition of the batteries and connections. Move on to the large electrical cable connections at the battery switch, engine block grounds, and power distribution post by the transmission. Then check the fuse and breaker connections in the observer storage, helm breaker panel connections, and the under dash ground buss and power module cables.

    Txi Tower support

We have a couple rectangle boat bumpers we shove under the tower on top of the gunwale. It’s the worked fairly well.

    2005 response LXI

Yeah that and the faded tower are red flags. It’s been used in a private lake so I assume the trailer has just sat out in the sun. I’ll definitely be going over the trailer if I move forward. As far as the boat goes anything in particular to this model that I should look out for?

    2005 response LXI

Looks like it's in pretty good shape for it's age. I'd take a serious look at the trailer!! If it's original, it's probably at (or past) the useable life. I'd check the cross members, axle/spring hangers as well as the welds holding the bunks. I don't think this should be a dealbreaker, but you'll need to be aware if you will tow any distance at all. A broken trailer on a boat is no fun at all, and can ruin a good vacation or even summer. When you test drive the boat, look over the trailer while boat is off.
