Well, very interesting....I did a search for the DFW area and Texas Malibu in Austin came up. I then went to google maps to search for Texas Malibu to see exactly where in Austin they were, and surprise, surprise, a new listing for Texas Malibu showed up in Fort Worth at the exact same address as Tommy's. If they are in fact taking over the FW location, I hope they take over the Lewisville location too.

You want a bit of space and ideally if dock on each side of the boat tie it centered so it doesn't touch the dock at all. BUT your main issue is the fenders them selves, there's no way around it traditional fenders scuff dark gel. Best solution is a set of ball fenders such as BABZ, offer way more protection and are soft enough not to scratch.

Is the stereo powered by the ignition wire? Perhaps use a relay.
