2007 vRide with LCR 320.

Replaced starter today and there seems to be a gap between the starter and bell housing. Old one had a bit of a gap too. Replacement starter was Mercrusier part number from Malibu dealer.

Boat starts fine. 

Is this just normal?

Elbow plastic connector on top of my engine seems to be missing a hose connected to it or a silencer cap? Air is blowing out of it when the engine is running which creates more noise. Engine shuts off if I block it off with my thump. This is on LS3 Monsoon.

Does anyone know what connects there? (See pic)

I think my oil consumption is OK. I’ll do a double check tomorrow. I do get a little bit of exhaust when it starts up. I have spoken to Dennis Kelly before and he told me that both of this era were definitely tuned to run very rich.

Good advice! This is what I would run and do!

Looks like someone rewired it at some point upon closer inspection I’ll have to dig in more
