There is a valve or T of some sort between the bag and hull but I haven’t investigated it much. I will take pictures and see what everyone thinks.

And they never did anything about it?  I had mine replaced twice, but they needed to hear it rattle (vs my videos), which was a pain since they had to have the truck overnight and my work schedule typically does not work their services hours.  

Sounds like you had a very lazy dealer.

Texas Malibu opened their Fort Worth location today. I stoped in and talked to the owner Scott, Sean and the rest of the guys. I get the old WSA feeling from the guys. Much more family like and not so much of a corporate feeling. Most of the guys are still there with a few good promotions. There’s a few boats there already and sounds like you will have all the other location’s boat inventory available.  I encourage you to stop in and visit with them. Hopefully the Lewisville location is close behind and selling/servicing boats. 

Interesting info @electricjohn.  My buddy's is an '03, wonder when the change was... I guess the other route would be to go for the whole assembly (also at Bakes) and start over.  Not the easiest solution, but...

Thank you for the feedback, guys. I was afraid that was the answer, and I’m just as concerned about reinstalling as I am about removing!
Unfortunately it’s not just an impeller, I need to replace the entire pump. And based on multiple threads I’m assuming that will be a PITA to remove besides just the 3 hex bolts as they seem to seize a lot to the harmonic balancer…if it doesn’t pull off I’m not confident I have any ability to get a hammer/pry bar to loosen.
