Smith Mountain Lake Advice

Hey Crew, anyone boat on Smith Mountain Lake?  A co-worker owns a house there and we have decided to host an "off site meeting" for a few days there the last week in April.  As luck would have it, my new-to-me 2022 23 LSV is supposed to arrive at our home lake in TN the day before our meeting, and it's only 5.5 hours of towing to get to Smith Mountain.  My co-worker has a lakefront house with dock but no boat.

Just curious on water level/spring debris levels, etc. for boating in late April/early May.  If the weather is garbage or the lake is garbage that time of year I'll skip towing it over, but figured you all would have good advice on that body of water.

Thanks all!

Uh, take it. Even if all you do is drink at the dock beside it…...  What can ruin that weekend is a new boat that just fails over something stupid in front of a large group of friends.

Idk, a boat that fails is indisputable justification for more beer

Ya take her. That's an outing I'd actually make and take a written checklist. Drainplugs first on the list, ha. And try a startup at home on a fake a lake or whatever you use first.

Have fun,

The boat has 20 hours on it (used) and I test drove in January on Lake Martin when I bought it (45 degree sunny day...quick ride, LOL).  Re-winterized after the ride.  They put new batteries in it in January, so assuming I don't have voltage issues, I should be able to do a quick "summerization", slap on my new registration numbers, and then road trip 5.5 hours!  :-)

Hit it!  :-)

We're all really excited to play with the new boat.  We've always been "OG" Malibu owners (hence my screen name), but ended up with what I feel was a "good" deal on a basically new 2022.  We were going to go "trailer-less" and just leave it on our lift for the year, but I ended up finding a great deal on a 2022 still new trailer at a dealership in GA.  They delivered the trailer to AL on Monday, so now the two pieces can come together and make the trek to TN!

I am very partial to that good looking color combo!  Very similar to mine.  Congrats and you are going to love it!
