Power button stuck ON

Recommended Posts

Has anyone had the spring loaded power button stuck in the ON position?  For 2017 malibu 23lsv it’s a $200 part and I just shut the battery switch off each time but it’s a little annoying; can you take it out and repair it maybe?

$200?  The $10 Amazon ones don't work on the newer boats?   Picture of switch?

There’s a different power button for the 12-16 models; the newer one is sold as a pair with the start/stop.  Was hoping for a cheaper replacement but not sure it would work with wiring.  Going to take it out and look at it next time in the boat.

The switches themselves look like the same generic on/off and momentary on that they sell on Amazon.  You would need to reuse the wiring harness and re-solder it to the new switch.

Things like these.  Not sure if 22mm is right size for the newer boats, but it is the size of the spare I keep for my 2012:

That’s a great idea, I’m going to take mine apart tomorrow and check out the wire/pins in the back and see if comparable and go from there thanks!

I tried one of those from Amazon but not gonna work; completely different backing and different amount of wires; could probably cut and solder but would have to add a wire or 2 to get it to light up like factory; for the extra $185 not worth it but thanks for the input!

I had the same issue on my 2017 23 LSV. I bought the boat used and thought I was doing something wrong. I ordered the OEM switch and start push button and replaced both. Works likes its supposed to now.
