2024 Boat Show impressions

They are nice!

Wasn't a fan of this Paragon color scheme.. I did like the Gs though..

Also apparently the Paragon has a new Hull this year.. and the G has the previous year Paragon Hull now.

FYI the S series is only 100" wide not 102.. like who thought that was a good idea????? Seriously the industry needs to go past 102..

Like .01% of ppl trailer 300-450k boats.. they obviously can afford waterfront and have someone do it..

the Paragon white and champagne gold one up at the Detroit show was super nice and slightly different.

Tige look sharp they have come a long way on fit and finish a little busy but I really like their flip forward and back passenger seat with the cooler there it just kind of works... They have really caught up.. especially on prices!

The Malibu mxz bow is much better laid out than all the new lsvs.. man Malibu TB and speakers are just horrible wasted space.. every other boat has a recessed pocket area which provides a ton of useful storage space out of the way and makes the bow seem a lot bigger you're not putting your cups and speakers in the seats you're recessing them into the boat!! Where they belong!! After hopping in every other brand I just cannot deal with that especially since I have recessed on my 2016 25 LSV!  I'm sorry I've got to say this but the new Malibu lsv bow is basically a Bayliner! FAIL especially for the price.

SUPRA.. maaaan they have come a ways, I think they are trying to position themselves above Malibu on fit/finish now is my take??? Perhaps even on price.. similar as tige higher end models.

.......

The show in Indy was last week and goes  through this weekend and this weekend should be " the busy weekend" . nobody was really thrilled thus far.

Cincinnati show was slow

Some nice looking boats! Will say the new paragon is insane, even better looking on the water. I dont think the G hull has changed since 2021 but could be wrong..

Defiantly seems like gold is the color for 24... Not sure what I think of it

That tige is WAY too busy of a color scheme to look good.

I was told the 25 Paragon is only about $15k more than the 23 footer optioned the same. Small delta for sure. That's where Malibu messed up with the 26lsv IMO.

The g25 never surfed well from what I've been told took too much extra weight. Supposedly that is better now in the P/G25 with extra subfloor ballast.. got me would be curious to try.

172k additional hmmm

Actuator Tower is only two stages on the G series and you can get it on the S series now as well..

The Paragon has a three-stage mast actuator Tower.. does have quite a few bells and whistles internally.. it's super plush! But +172k.. yikes..

The Paragon has an optional additional ballast of five sub tanks extra or maybe it's two more than the standard three I forget seems kind of weird it's not just all options...

I think the subtitle "Wake parks are much more convenient than boat ownership, if you're near one" says it all for me.  My boat usage is 90% early AM wakeboard sessions and 10% afternoons with family/friends.  I love cable and that 90% would be covered if I had one within an hour of me.  Closest one is Imondi Wake Zone which is 4 hours away.

I've done the math and between interest, registration, insurance and storage I am out around $6-7k a year that I will never see again on my 22' A22.  That doesn't include gas, maintenance, depreciation.  Yes, I can afford it but it stings regardless.

On the positive, my wake is dialed.  It's big and juicy.  My friends always throw down for their fair share of gas when we ride + help wipe down etc.  My kids are currently young (5 month and 3.5 years).  I do see the value for them growing in the future too.

I agree. While setting up for the St. Charles show I went over to take a peek. VERY nice looking.

The new stereos look very cool. I didnt listen, but will go back to audition the system. Very nice looking, flush amp racks, three (3) speakers in front of driver and on top of glove box. Speakers built into the tower sides as well. Attention to detail/fit and finish was very good. I dont know who makes the transom remote, but I really liked it.

I have heard it. The 2024 stereo trumps the 2023 JBL that it replaced. My 2023 JBL was better tan my 2018 Wetsounds.

Knoxville boat show is this weekend. Always a good mix of wake boats along with tons of toons. With Brunswick, Malibu/ Axis, Supra/ Moomba, and Mastercraft factories all located within 30 miles of Knoxville we always have some nice boats there. Looking forward to seeing all the boats I can no longer afford.

Spent some time looking thru a T220 wife was not impressed. She liked the 23lsv much more but the Tommys sales guy didnt earn my vote by sh!t talking my current boat. Why not ask if I had been on a Malibu and experienced the wave instead of talking crap about a boat I own and like?

Ingenuity might be owned by Correct Craft. I was at the MC factory for training Friday. Totally missed going to the Knoxville boat show.. Bummed. Any more pictures? Got to the BU factory after it closed. Security guard let us do a quick loop.

That was literally the only pic I took. Not much interested me. We spent a bit of time looking at the Moomba Tykon, and the supreme s220. Looked at a lot of pontoons for some reason. I guess we were just fighting boredom. The Centurion/ atx/Tige dealer in town just got their entire floor plan repo'ed so there was not much there from them. Was hoping to see an Ultre

Wow, that is crazy. Were they a new or shady dealer?

The floor plan company can pull your floor plan if you don't meet all your obligations with it. You have to report financials regularly, they have to be able to physically inspect the units on your floor plan, you have to have cash liquidity to a certain level, on and on......  They could be totally legit, but a risk on paper that the floor plan company no longer feels is worth it.

They have 2 locations. One on Norris lake and one here in Knoxville about 2 miles from my house. I think they were just over leveraged, nice guys there did free surf demos every weeks during the summer. The Knoxville location apparently lost their floor plan and folded up shop. I think it sucks because it was nice to have some options out there, and a free ride on Tuesday nights for anyone that wanted to come out and play was cool.

I spoke to the sales guy I know from Tommys who is now the service manager there and he had mentioned not selling a single wake boat by late Saturday afternoon. Said they had sold some pontoons, but no Axis or Bu sales. He seemed concerned by the lack of movement, meanwhile the paragon across the way  with no listed price was sold as well as a G23 at 270k.
