Low voltage alarm

Recommended Posts

Hi, my wakesetter has the low voltage alarm sounding when at idle, it shows 10.9 - 11v on the digital screen. As soon as the revs get up and we are at speed then the alarm stops. I’m assuming it’s an alternator issue and have ordered a new one but just thought I’d post in case anybody has other clues.

thanks and happy new year everyone!

If it gets better when you rev it up it is probably not the alternator.  Clean the battery terminals, then lay on your back under the dash and clean every connection you can find.  When you get done, spray some light oil (WD-40, etc.) On the buses and connectors.

New issue after running good for a long time? Belt was nice and tight? If it has one of those canon connectors maybe give that a good connector cleaning too while you are messing around.

edit: And happy new years to you ! New Years in summer sounds so nice !
