1999 Response LX Pitot tube broken

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I accidently broke my pitot tube while iwnterizing/buffing.  I am now using a GPS to get my speed.

How should I go for a delete?  I mean does the water tube is connected to the Control Unit in the front??

thanx!

The tube does run up and connect to the front.  But really the first thing to do is deal with the hole in the back.  Either some minor fiberglass and gel coat repair or just some marine tex or 3M marine adhesive sealant 5200.  Depends on how pretty you want it to look.

If your '99 is like my 2000, there are 2 pitot tubes in back, and the 2 lines hook to the MDC computer under the dash. If you are not using the MDC, you can disconnect both lines and either plug them each or connect them together. If the connection point in the MDC computer becomes compromised, you can shove water into the MDC and then have it drip into the driver compartment. If you have already gotten rid of the Medallion speedo, capping the lines under the dash or connecting them together would suffice. My computer is gone, and I just connected the lines together with a barbed fitting. Both pitot tubes in back are rotated up and out of the main waterflow.
