2012 LSV electrical issue

Hello Malibu Crew family, 

I am hoping for some advice on an electrical issue. I have a Rockford Fosgate head unit which has one ‘multi-pronged plug’ as the sole connection. Last year I noticed when I’d be boating, the stereo indicator screen & controls would intermittently come on and off for a period of time. I crawled under the dash and unplugged & plugged back in to ensure connection, and was confident that was not the issue. It happened again a couple more times, so I figured the head unit was bad & replaced it with a brand new RF unit(same one). I went out for a ride today and noticed the new head unit did the exact same thing - will just stop working for a period of time, and then come back on. Important to note that the actual stereo continues to work, but I cannot change volume, station etc. Any advice would be helpful, thank you in advance for your input.

Those remotes on the stern can go bad. If you have a transom remote, try unplugging it and see what happens.

The black box that the dash remote plugs into inside the observers compartment were notorious for loose connections and intermittent failures.
