New Strut Install - help

Hit something 🤦🏻‍♂️. Installing a new strut and have seen people mention using marine adhesive. 
 

The old strut just fell off when I loosened the bolts so I’m not sure it was installed correctly
 

Do I need to use 4200 when I re-install?

Yes you need to use either 3m 4200 or 5200 (adhesive sealant).  I am pretty sure I used 5200 when I did mine, make sure to put it in the bolt holes too just for piece of mind.  Doesn't hurt.
