Thermostat housing

Recommended Posts

2002 wakestter with 320 monsoon. Winterizing the engine and needing to know if the thermostat housing drains when the block drains are pulled?  I have also drained the manifolds, impeller, water pump and trans cooler. Just seeing if I need to remove thermostat housing cover as well? Thanks

Thermostat will drain with the block.  Pull the hoses from the water pump to get the water trapped there, drain block on both sides, drain manifolds.  Maybe blow out heater core if you have one.  If a V drive there should be a drain on the front of the housing as well.

I force air through the engine with a Shop-Vac at the tranny cooler. This technique easily gets another quart of water out of each of the drain plugs and exhaust manifold drain hose.
