Maybe I missed reading it in the thread, but for those who have added the NPT fitting to the end of the drain hose so they get a sealed connection to the vacuum pump hose, what size and thread is it?

That’s a good question. The hose on the m5’s I’ve had are not the same size as my past indmar/pcm engines. I haven’t taken the time to try to figure it out to be honest.

I don't have our boat at home or the extractor pump to go look at, but the hose and cap on our Indmar 350 looks just like the pics that were posted.  Seems like the smaller rigid plastic hose (the one that can break off on extractor) wouldn't even be needed and the section of longer and larger clear tygon hose on the extractor might fit right into the end of the drain hose on the boat.  I'm definitely interested in doing changes going forward with the drain hose (I've been using the dreaded dip stick method for years and I don't want a problem).  Our issue is we change the oil on the lift/water, so the center or rear drain doesn't help us.  Also like to run it afterwards and then check the oil level.  Different story if on a trailer in the driveway.  It will be a spring project to figure as I have already done the oil this year and it heads to storage soon, love all the tech knowledge and "know how" from the Crew!!  Thanks

My 2008 has the hose.  I have a thru hull right in the area (I assume in place for fat sacks) that I drop it thru.

I was excited when I got the boat and saw that.  my previous boat (mecruiser) was a PITA to change, and I always dreamed of adding a fitting and hose to the oil pan!
