Oil extraction hose broke in oil pan

I was finally able to conduct the tube in hot oil test today (working from home today and the wife is at work so I could use her oven, hopefully the smell in the house clears out before she gets home).  2hrs at 170F (lowest the oven would go) and there was no effect on the hose, it sunk to the bottom of the oil and did not get soft or malleable at all.  1hr at 200F and it started to get soft and pliable, but it was not coming apart or concerning.  Just for good measure I did another hour at 220F and then it shrunk to ½ of its length and was quite soft but still did not separate when pulled apart.  I may regret this next year after running the boat but right now I am feeling better about leaving it down there.

I use the “through the dipstick” attachments but I run them through the longer (factory installed) oil drain hose, instead of the dip stick tube.  That drain hose is longer than my vacuum hose and I duct tape the vacuum hose connection to the oil drain hose so it doesn’t leak pressure and sucks it out nicely.  Works really good, I don’t have to worry about getting it stuck, and it sucks from likely the lowest point on the oil pan vs wherever the dipstick comes in.

If you buy a $2 fitting at home Depot, you can clip the plastic and skip the duct tape.
