2012 VTX Stereo Won’t Turn On

Looking for some direction. I have a 2012 VTX with the 6.0. Last season I could only control the stereo during the first few minutes the boat powered up, then the controls went dead. If the stereo was on it continued to play with no volume control. I just lived with it. This summer there is no power showing up to the stereo at all. The small dash mounted control has no power going to it and the Media screen opens up but no buttons work. Anyone else have these challenges? Where does the stereo head unit get its power? And where is it located? Any direction is appreciated.

Great, thank you. Just to show my ignorance…..is the amp wall in the front storage area behind the spotters seat where the batteries are? Thanks

Yes. On the port wall by the batteries is the amps and the brains(media box). The means to control the stereo are just remote heads that talk to the media box via cables. The remote heads get their power through the cables from the media box. Being the music still plays but you lose control, I’d try the cable from the media box to the remote head first. Check the connection and or replace the cable.

I now get no power at all to the system. The remote screens on the dash show nothing, not even the clock is on. So I’m assuming no power is getting to the stuff by the batteries. I cannot determine which wires are the power and are the pieces powered from under the dash or from the battery storage area? I got nothing!! Thanks again for any help.
