1996 Malibu response water coming from flywheel housing

1996 Response Started today to bilge out the water after the torrential downpours yesterday up here in Maine, we got about 4 inches in 6-7 hours. and when i opened the cover there is water when the motor is running coming from the flywheel housing, i assume its a plug of some king that has rusted out, but before doing anything I'd like to know cause it wont be an easy job to pull the motor or the drive to get to.

Any info would be a great help.
