Thank you in advance for any help.

If I cut my 150 foot anchor line in half so I have 2 75 foot lines make the new lines defective in any way?

the line I have is made out of nylon and brand is Seachoice.

Cutting the anchor line will not hurt it.  You will need to burn the ends if it is a nylon line to keep it from fraying.  There are other ways of keeping the ends from unraveling, depending on what material it is.

I remember being 7-8 years old and watching my dad cauterize a nylon ski rope.  Then he tells me “you know, they used to do this to flesh wounds in wars to close them up, hurt like hell”. Can’t believe I didn’t have nightmares.
