Blower Motor wines in Stereo

Recommended Posts

I upgraded my stereo this year, sounds great, but now I'm getting a buzz from the stereo when the blower is running.  It never happened with the old stereo.  I tried running the ground off the direct battery ground that is in place for the amp, but that didn't help.  Any ideas?

I had great results putting a small capacitor on the blower.  I also did the same with the DC power outlet since the inflator for the SUP did the same thing.  I used an SAE power connector and incorporated the capacitor into the connection.  I wish I knew the size, (between 500-1000u) but you can buy a kit with several sizes for fairly cheap on Amazon and play with the sizes while running the blower to see which gives the best results.  You can also use more than one (different sizes) to tune out the noise.

After thinking about what have changed, I also had to use a converter for the front channel to line outs so that I could amp both front and rear channel.  I'm guessing the device is cheap and allowing noise to enter at the converter point.  I'm going to try relocating the converter or putting a noise suppressor on the line outs.
