Wedge actuator wires chewed...darn muskrat!!

Curious. A muskrat completely chewed part of my black wire to starboard actuator. I tried to solder in new wire, not getting anything. Assume I just need to replace but anybody have another idea? $300 shipped for new one is not a terrible fix. I have a 2014 Wakesetter with wedge2.
