Tips for replacing soft grip on swim platform

So my soft grip was damaged on my swim platform and I have new stuff coming

Everyone has told me what a PITA it is to remove the old stuff, has anyone done this?  DO any of you have any tips on how to do this smarter to make this easier/faster and stop me from losing my mind?

Let the swim deck sit in the sun an get nice and warm

not sure where you are located, but it would be worth waiting for a hot day vs using a hair dryer on a cold day 

and be super careful if using a heat gun

Seadeck has a great YouTube video that I followed when I replaced mine. Just google it up.

Pinstripe removal wheel is my go to for removing whatever can't be pulled off by hand.  Good luck, it can really become alot of work.

Yeah i saw the seadek video, i guess it's really just heat, pull and use a plastic tool to remove!  Wish me luck!

Osillating tool with a Milwalkee mushroom head flexible blade. Spray it with something to keep wet and so stuff doesnt stick to it (i use a degreaser).

Once the material is off the adhesive isnt to bad.

Soak it with adhesive remover and let it sit for a few minutes, use a plastic razor blade and start scraping.

you might try removing in strips 2 to 3 inches wide. Use a razor knife to score thru it. I've done carpet and and other glue down things this way. easier to pull up in strips.
