Scheduled maintenance needed alert

Hi everyone. First post here. I have a 2017 malibu 21 vlx and when I turn it on I get the yellow scheduled maintenance needed alert. My boat has 293 hours and I performed all the 300 hour maintenance tasks. I can't make the " service done" button active on my mini screen. Do I have to wait until 300 hours and I'll have the ability to press the service done and turn off this alarm? I feel like it's been popping up since approx 285 hours. I bought the boat at 240 hours and it's my first "newer" boat.

The short answer is yes, if the maintenance reminder icon can't be changed to the green Service Done when you touch it, you will have to run the boat until it passes that engine hour mark to reset it.

Thanks! Boat is 5 years old and the icon says 300 hrs or 3 years. Figured i'd ask.

Malibu had the service reminder on 2015-2019 models and I have seen the same thing happen on several of those boats.  Malibu did away with the maintenance reminder when the display system was changed in 2020 and newer boats.
