Crank position sensor Hammerhead 375

Anybody with a 2003 or close Hammerhead 375, is your crank position sensor plugged in? Port side under the harmonic balancer. I found mine unplugged and no wire nearby today. The boat has run just fine without it for the last 2 years that I have owned it, mostly curious if you find the same thing on yours.

I have a monsoon 340 of that vintage, mine is not plugged in and no wire around for it.  I expect the open loop efi of that era doesn’t need a crank position sensor as it uses a distributor.
