tons... the whole boat had heavy oxidation. the previous owner had it on a lift, that seemed to get sun on 3 sides... the top was ok, but there were still plenty of scratches on the gunnels. he also got it off the trailer and onto stands to get all of the stuff underneath.

He quoted me 3-4k for a “typical” restoration on a 21’ ski boat. Mine was on the higher end of that (above 4k) as there was a lot of gelcoat work, and two large 10’ long scratches on the bottom. 
 

every surface except for the top/gunnels needed heavy compound and sanding to bring it back.

My transom has slowly been slipping for me, it faces west.  It's been 13 years since the big rehab, and instead of a sand/polish I'm going to do a vinyl wrap, DIY.  Just a thought.  It will be just be wrapping red over the red above and below, and I'll leave the rest.  Pic for explanation:
