2001 sunsetter new boat owner

New to Malibu boats bought a 2001 sunsetter just after some basic advice on pre checks ect obviously engine oil ect but this is my first v drive any advice much appreciated also my gages don’t work fml what a nightmare when it stops raining I’ll check all my earths speed also not working either any quick tips please send them my way

Sunsetter VLX, 2001?  Outstanding boat.

You might need to check out the MDC repair threads.  Speedo and all gauges run off the MDC.  There's a fairly easy fix to re-solder some points if that's not working, assuming you have good power to the unit.  Pull and clean all connections on the ground bus bar under the dash.  Some folks with the older boats have had good luck running a second ground wire from the bus bar to the battery negative terminal also.
