Removed impeller cover to drain. Removed screws and pulled to release cover from housing. Popped off and right into the hole in the stringer. Lucky I barely seen it traveling that way or I would have never found it. Contorted myself to feel around. Only able to get 2 fingers that luckily made it rattle to confirm the location. Could only make it move farther into the abyss. Stopped before it made it to no mans land. Had to tape up 2 fingers with double sided tape to be able to drag it back to the hole opening and barley able to grab  between thumb and finger to lift out of stringer. All being done completely blind from the Port side storage coffin.

Never dropped the cover, but I have a bag of extra cover screws for a reason.

Heck no, anybody that touches a wrench or tool can relate.  Where do you think the origin of the swear word came from.  That and a hammer hitting a body part.

My wife used to double the time I told her it would take to do a project. Now she uses a hours to days forecast.

Wait until you get into your new boat! On my buds SL it is like staring into the abyss down into to the bilge from the top of the motor. And it seems like the bilge slopes forward directly under the motor. I dropped the mouse ear plug for his heat exchanger and of course it rolled center mass. If it were my boat I would definitely put a dummy cord on that plug. The block and VD plugs were easy get to or recover if dropped.

Proper software estimation requires that you take the software team's worst estimate, then double it, then change to the next higher units.

Three weeks is then correctly estimated as six months.  Usually very accurate.

Wrapping tape on a stick, sticky side up is my go to.
