looks like you MI-based guys have lots of fun, i'm jealous.  wish we had a similar thing near me.

(i did get out last week and surf in 47 F water in only my 3/2 wetsuit - that was pushing it, but totally worth it)

Talk with your local dealer and offer to help with organizing. I bet they would jump at it. Malibu likes these types of events.

Does Malibu subsidize it in some way?  My dealer is participating in an Xmas-eve Santa-ski thing, so they don't just sit around and may be amenable to changing it up.  Looks like its basically a winter Just Ride Tour event?  but gotta hope for decent winter weather and that lots of folks have wetsuits i suppose.

Honestly I don’t know. I just volunteer to help with setup, driving and communication to the bar on our lake. In past years we have had Malibu athletes come up for the event though so I imagine they are involved somehow.

Does anybody foot in the event?  Depends on the water chop probably?

Yes. Members of Spraymasters have come out and footed depending on the conditions. It’s going to be a tough one Saturday though.

Event is a good time, last year awards given away including some good swag.  It has been around for multiple decades, started in the Skiers Pier days.  Several athletes have shown up including Will Asher, T-Gas, etc.  Always hilarious to watch the Florida athletes shiver and huddle around the space heaters, I hope they were paid well to show up, LOL.

@Michigan boarder - yes, footing is done on occasion, I footed several years ago when younger/dumber:-).  Footing has been done in the last couple of years.  Last year I was able to do the double, water and snow ski on the same day, pretty cool for Michigan.

** and hats off to the drivers, it can be a cold day bombing back and forth behind the wheel.  Us crazy skiers really appreciate it.

Air was 35ish, same with the water. Wind was like 20mph when we started but it calmed down to like 10 by the evening. I’m not sure how many people we had. It was a bit lower turnout then normal as I think the wind scared a lot of people away. There were gusts around 40 in the morning.

How was starting the boats in those temps?  I got a UEG01 and 02 pump slow to warm error code despite trying to gingerly warm things up a few weeks back in cold temps.  It went inactive soon, so no harm done but I am not sure what that is related to.

No issues. They do prep them the day before which may help. I recall one year I got an engine code at first start but I don’t recall what it was.

I did get the horn button stuck on the A24 though. That was fun lol. It remains on even when the main power is off to the boat.

Our parade was so cold, the wind was coming right off Lake MI and downtown!  Tommy's lent us a shiny new 23LSV that we decorated up, did you guys see a new red Response zipping around?  That's going to be our boat next year.  Here's some of our team getting staged and ready:
