Dealer transfer

Recommended Posts

I've been looking for 23 MXZs with the M6.  My local dealer does not seem to build them with that engine.  An adjacent dealer has indicated to me that they would transfer it to my dealer at wholesale.  Has anyone ever done this?  Tips/tricks/advice?

Typically I'd think of a boat purchase in terms of % off MSRP.  But in this case I'd rather think of it as wholesale plus something extra to my dealer to make it worth their time.  Initially seems like my dealer may want to push me towards building new, but I also haven't gotten the impression they'll deal on price like surrounding dealers do on left-over inventory.

I know there has been lots of talk on here about % off MSRP for a good deal on a Malibu.  Does anyone know of what typical the upcharge % is when you go from wholesale to MSRP?

TIA.

Msrp has been fairly consistent across most markets these days. With the exception of dealer specific up charges. MSRP at dealer 1 should be the same as dealer 2, as long as the boats are same and similarly equipped. If 1 boat has the M5 and the 2nd M6 there will obviously be a difference in the MSRP

if dealer 2 is selling dealer 1 a boat off their lot there is no way they are doing it out of the goodness of their heart. They are taking a commission (unless it’s Tommy’s to Tommy’s dealership where ownership is the same)

Only true comparison is to take the MSRP of both deals divide the OTD price to get the % off msrp number and weigh the options or differences in the boats.
