Midwest Collegiate Regionals

I haven't been to a 3 event tournament since the Coors Light pro tour, in the mid 80s.

Daughter is on the UW-Lax team, her 2nd year. I was able to watch the whole regional this last weekend at the P.I.T.S., fun time and fun to watch.  Daughter go 3 PBs so that is good. They did not make Nationals this year though, so off to Rally racing in the U.P. instead.

College tournaments are by far the best and honestly showcase the sport the best.

I've started skiing tournaments this year for the first time since college.  I'm a better skier than I ever was back then, but the fun level is not even in the same zip code.  My ski team days in college were the best days of my life.  If you have kids and you're not teaching them how to ski, and only surf, you're majorly short-changing them later in life.  I've never seen collegiate wakesurfing.

That's awesome that your daughter set three new PBs in a tournament @footndale.  My PBs are always in practice.

Talking to my 2 oldest, they sure wish they had teams at their colleges.  MTU and NMU, they just had snow. 

We were never a 3 event family. Show skiing and footing. Daughter is having a blast learning and getting better. If she stays home this summer, more jumping, slalom course and tricking for sure. Being sick with a virus for 2 weeks didn't help, but 70s and sunny sure did. Like most club sports, it is about the people and fun, with skiing thrown in.

Yeah, that last line was probably why it was so fun.  We did our best, but we didn't expect to compete with and beat the southern scholarship schools.  We had a lot of fun with it.  We used to have shirts that said "Our drinking team has a waterskiing problem," and then there was this classic (not me in the photo... this is @Alibuma aka @BaylinerNut).

Is any organized event remotely as fun as they were in college?   Collegiate tourney skiing exemplifies the camaraderie and fun aspect of life.
