Auto bilge comes on sometimes when ballasts filling

Recommended Posts

About 20% of the time when my ballasts are filling I get a warning on the screen about "auto-bilge engaged" or something to that effect and I get maybe 1-2 minutes of water flowing overboard.

I inspected the center drain plug area and there's no water buildup there and I also inspected the stern ballast areas and don't see any loose water there either.

Is this a common thing?

What boat do you have?  My T220 bilges a lot.  Been chasing the issue all summer.  Appears to be coming from the starboard rear so I've narrowed down to hard tank itself, the fitting to it or the underwater light on that side.  I've spent more time staring into my rear hatches and engine compartment than I care to admit but zero clear indicators.  My next step is to fill the rear of the boat with a garden hose a few inches and see if water comes out anywhere that's obvious.
