Maliview screen acting up

Recommended Posts

Hi crew,

Screen acting up on my 2013 22MXZ, goes to the pre-set menu and back to gauge screen on it's own, sometimes flicks to the media screen and can't go back to regular screen. Have to shut down, turn battery off and hope it resets, sometimes it works and sometimes it takes a few rounds, and than it would work fine for a while during an outing. Had a bad battery which I have now replaced and i feel this issue started when the bad battery was still in, I don't think the problem is the screen itself but possibly the Viper module so planning on trying a software flash to reset it, wondering if anyone had a similar issue and was able to fix it.

Thanks crew,

Hi csleaver,

so behind the screen? I think there is a 4 pin connections on each sides, any advice on how to access the back of the screen?

If you can't get to the plugs from under the dash, remove the plastic gauge cluster from the dash shroud.  There are a couple studs and nuts on the bottom of the plastic housing attaching it to the dash and a couple screws at the top attaching it to shroud.

Careful, those plastic clusters are very easy to break.

Hi Csleaver,

thank you for the recommendation, pulled off the screen helm and my guess is a jammed wire was the cause, screen works perfectly now.
