Indmar Exhaust Manifold fitting blew

It was a smokey Saturday for my 2008 LSV. Blew port side manifold exhaust fitting. Thinking boat was running without water intake for 1-2 mins at very low speed.

Questions:

1. Looks like elbow fitting blew out. And seems like simple replacement.

2. Anything else I need to be aware of or check.

3. The threaded portion broke off in manifold. Any suggestions on removing.

4. When installing new elbow, any tape or material used.

Thanks

The remaining portion of the plastic water fitting can be removed with a large EZ-out bit or broken into pieces and removed with a pick.  Often, the threads in the manifold need to be cleaned with a pick or chased with a pipe tap.  The threads on the replacement fitting should be coated with high temp pipe thread sealant like Permatex 59214.

The ETX CAT exhaust hose re-plumb kit should be installed if it hasn't been done already.
