2005 RLXI Heater Craft.

Hi all,

Looking at adding a Heater Craft to my 2005 RLXI Closed cooled engine.

I believe a 2 outlet heater will fit my boat but was wondering if a 3 outlet would be possible? Not sure if there's enough room for the bigger heater box under the dash.

Looks like there are 2 models with the 200 series heater craft. The Pro and Elite.

From my understanding the only difference between the Pro and Elite is the Elite has an extra 12v pump. Can anyone confirm?

Having a closed cooled engine I'm not if i need the extra pump due to the engine having a pump that pumps the coolant through the block. Can anyone confirm?

And are they easy to install?

Thanks

I can't tell you which unit might fit under your dash (or more specifically, behind the kick panel).  I have a 2.5 port (two large and one small) behind the panel in my Sunsetter LX.

You will probably want the pump so that you can get better circulation, including getting heat after the motor is turned off.

Easy enough to install, but removing the plug from the intake manifold was a job.  I guess they don't want those coming out.

worse for me was the return barb on water pump,  couldnt get a wrench on it due to its position relative to housing metal, so when i installed my ypipe snd moved hose i just capped it with rubber hose and clamps and a 5/8 npt plug in it  .  luv my aux pump i installed on my new boat heater install snd

no i didnt install a loop around the aux pump for circ when heater not running as so many have insisted was absolutely necessary with the 6.0L gm 😂🤓😎

Most likely either will fit, as for the extra pump several threads on this site comment on a need for it.  Just an FYI, the CFO preferred a seat heater to the air blower.  Assuming you will tap in to the coolant side, that should improve the lifespan of the heater core, they don't do that well in raw water.  As you install it, if you ski early and tend to get a foggy windshield, consider one outlet as a defroster, it helps.
