What is the "Lift" setting on the Malibu wedge used for?

My 2022 VTX power wedge dashboard display shows the range from "Stow" to "Lift" with 6 numbers in between.  Numbers 3 & 4 seem to produce the maximum wake.  Does "Lift" help reduce a wake for Slalom skiing?  I can't find anything about this in the owners manual.

Lift mode will help offset some of the stern weight -- especially useful for launching a wakeboard run when fully ballasted (then once at speed, it can revert to a different setting to pull the stern back down and increase the wake).  with no ballast and Lift mode, it can certainly flatten out the wake for intro wakeboarders or tubing...but probably not good for slalom skiing as it shouldn't be deployed over 25mph.
