AC to DC Convertor - Boat Lift

byoda1a

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased a Hewitt Lift boss 110V Motor for my boat lift. I share my neighbor's pier and he prefers I locate a solar panel retro kit. Is there a recommended AC to DC Convertor that works with this motor & solar panel kit? Or am I better off returning/selling the new motor and buying a new motor/solar panel kit with 12v batteries? Thanks - novice lake owner.

Better off replacing motor than dealing with the loss from the invertor.  Depending on how much you use the lift each day, you could also consider just running a pigtail from the boat and plugging that in to operate the (12V) lift.  One of the guys I ski with has been doing that for years rather than having any batteries or charger on the dock.
