2002 Wakesetter wake for slalom

Does the wake for skiing on the wakesetter DD just really stink compared to the sunsetter LXI? I know it is not as good, but for someone who slalom skis recreationally will it be that big of a difference? I will not be skiing the course, bit I do like to cross the wake aggressively without being launched out of my ski. Hope this makes sense and someone can help me out on this. I have seen the wake of the sunsetter lx in the 1999 model. Would it be the same?

Thanks

I ski behind a 97' SLX, same as the wakesetter, periodically and it's just fine and other than some enhancements to the interior it's the same boat. The transition is a bit more pronounced and the wakes harder but a great hull nonetheless. Just make sure to keep the weight in the front down as I noticed it really changes the size quickly then to that of the SLXI.

I have never skied behind the Sunsetter LXI, But I have a 2003 Wakesetter Direct Drive and My uncle has the Response LXI and he said he doesn't mind sking behind my Wakesetter it is no RESPONSE but he said it is pretty dang flat, and he is a course only skier. I bought the Wakesetter originally because of the cross over versitility Myself a knuckle dragging wakeboarder and the wife an avid salom skier. Now after our first son the wife very rarely skis and I am still sporting a direct drive for 95% wakeboarding. I think I am going to be making the move to the new VTX shortly. Didn't really answer your question but I can't see the Sunsetter LXI being all that much better in terms of wake for the recreational type skier...

We have an 02 wakesetter, and I myself ski. I love the wake behind our boat. My uncle has a 94 echelon lx, and he skied behind our boat and was VERY impressed with the slalom wake. It is a little bit bigger then an echelon due to size of course. I have never skied behind a sunsetter, but the wake behind our boat is great for skiing as well as wakeboarding for a family where dad, and myself ski, and two brothers wakeboard it is a great crossover boat. If you are looking for something with a good ski wake and good wakeboard wake you can't lose. hope this post helps you.
