Stepped up for VTX today

Well I took the plunge today, I sold my 04 VLX in the fall and was undecided on an X-2, X-15, 22VE, VLX or VTX. Bang for the buck the VTX got my cash.

Monsoon (after some reading here vs the LCR), cut diamond hull, illusion x, bimini, travel cover, racks, heater, pull up cleats, fiberglass swimgrid, power wedge, 4 rockford speakers only. Might be nuts but I figured I could do the stereo for way less than factory Malibu.

I can't wait for summer.

How do you get the factory build pics I've seen some guys post?

Your salesperson should be able to give you the contact information for their person who handles that at the factory. If they can't, just call the factory directly. I know the one in Merced is very accommodating.

Congratulations on the new order!

Thanks for the feedback guys, I'm stoked about this boat.

RImag, how's the ski wake? Curious on top end with the monsoon also, for the one or two barefoots per year.

At 32 mph + the wake with a diamond hull is small but hard you definately know your going through it. I am not a great skier on the course but was hoping this weekend to get one of the crew I usally ride with to try it and get his thoughts. I believe it will be fine for casual sking. Florida just got a cold spell so we will see what happens this weekend.

Top speed with the monsoon is about 43 MPH or so according to GPS. The speedo will show about 50 MPH.

We picked the VTX because it fits in the garage and I believe it was a exellent choice overall. It is rated to hold 10 people and you could do it but 6 to 7 will fit comfortablly for the day. The wake is huge to me stock, maybe one day I will consider it small but that is a couple of years off. :)

We have the manual wedge and I have nothing to compare it to verses the older or power models. But you definately know when it is down as the wake tends to get ramper and you go higher. I am still getting use to that.

The only thing I regrett not adding was the heated shower.

That wake sounds like it is from the wake hull, not the Diamond hull. I skied the Cut Diamond hull, and didn't think it was hard at all.

Here is your report and the post w/ the wake pictures.

Those pics of the wake look good! Can't be harder than what I had (04VLX). The VLX was recreational at best.

43MPH, man I figured it would be faster than that. I was hoping for 45+.

Colors: Side and hull light graphite, nose white, then light graphite, then black, bottom accent white. Ispec does not do it any justice, dealer had one similar colors looked great.

That seems slow for a 20' VD with the Monsoon.

Seems like the VTX will be here to stay. Might we be seeing a trend going the opposite of the 247?
