Rev 8’s

Does anyone know if the stock Malibu amps will handle 4 Rev 8’s. I have two on there now and wanting to add another pair.  Yes I know REV 10’s are better but for head room the REV 8’s work better. This is going on a 2018 25 LSV

On 2017 or newer Malibu boats with a pair of Rev8 tower speakers you can add another pair of Rev8's without any modifications to the amp when the speakers are wired in parallel.  If you switch to a pair, or two pairs, of Rev10 speakers the amp will just need to be reprogrammed, but you can't use the "shelf style" mounts with Rev10's on the G3.x tower.

Thank you for this info. I actually did decide to go with a pair of 10’s. How hard is it to reprogram the amp?  Is this something I can do like on other marine amps or should I take it to an audio guy?  Also I have the G4 tower.

All you need to do is get a DSP programmer from a Malibu or Wetsounds dealer (with the correct program on it of course) and plug it into the programming port on the amp.

The OEM amps are DSP and have no consumer level tuning adjustments as they are tuned via a program and loaded from a stick/dongle. Your Malibu dealer's service center can load the latest and greatest tune for you. Being a 2018, id have them update both.
