06 VLX in garage

I'm buying a new house and was wondering what the minimum garage depth to get the boat into. I have a huge garage now so it's not a problem. Does anyone have a 21'6" garage and making it work? I do have the swing away tongue and it's on an extreme trailer.

With either Wedge, unless you have a lot of width to turn the boat sideways there is no way you'll get it in a 21' 6" garage.

With the Power Wedge add an extra 14 inches on to you length measurement, with the Manual Wedge you need around 4 inches extra.

And even with a swing-away tongue, you'll still have around 6-10 inches of trailer length that still pokes out past the boat in the front. I would be leery of anything less that 23 feet of garage depth.

Depends on the trailer - my Extreme was flush with the bow of the boat when folded. My Sport Boat trailer had the removable tongue and it was flush with the bow, when removed, also.

Not on an Extreme, it pivots right at the nose of the boat. Skicrave's right, about 4 inches is what he'll need for the manual wedge, so if he's got 22' to work with then it will fit.

I just went out and measured my 06 VLX on SMP trailer with manual wedge down. Looks like it might fit in 22 feet but would have no space left front or back. Probably would bang up the back wall and or garage door trying to get it placed just right every time. My trailer also sticks out about 4" in front of boat with tongue swung. You could header the back wall off for the wedge to stick in and that will fit in 22 Feet. That will give you an extra 4" to the garage outside sheeting on the wall studs.
