Lifting points on back of engine (Indmar 5.7L)

Recommended Posts

I'm having a go at changing the damper plate myself.  Need to support and lift the back of the engine to get the trannie and bell housing off so the engine rotates upwards on it's front (stern of boat) trunions..    Anyone got a picture / info on where the lifting points are - the only bracket that I could see is where my oil drain pipe is clipped to but that doesn't look strong enough -  or do I need to put a chain under the engine but above the oil pan maybe?

Thanks

Found it online - it is the bracket where my oil sump extension is clipped to - just seems strange that it's not in a central location
