Help Needed: Trailer bunk distance for VLX 2009??

Recommended Posts

Hi All!

My boat trailer was wrecked in an accident, luckily the boat wasn't on the trailer at that point of time. Now I've got a new trailer and I'm having hard times adjusting the trailer bunks because the old trailer is not available for measuring. My boat is Malibu VLX 2009 (2009-2012 are with the very same hull) and in my trailer there's one pair of full lenght bunks.

My questions: What's the correct distance between the trailer bunks? And should this distance be measured from the inner or outer edges of the bunks?

I'd highly appreciate any help, I've already tried the things below:

  • I tried searching the answer in TMC.com, with no luck
  • I emailed this question to Malibu Boats and to my surprise their answer was "We don't know, ask BoatMate".
  • I also emailed the question to BoatMate. It wasn't a surprise they didn't answer: it's not their business to help with non-BoatMate trailers.

BR, Mika

Excellent! Many thanks @mgb1974 !!

TMC is invaluable source of information! In Finland we don't have a single Malibu dealer (I imported my boat from the Netherlands) so getting this kind of information from/via the dealer is not an option for me.

Thanks again!
