illusion bimini

we have just ordered a 07 v-ride with the illusion tower (coming from australia here) and we are not sure what bimini would be good as we have 3 options,

the one on top of the tower, which is kind of out of the question because it doesnt provide much shade.

then one just under the top of the tower, which seems to be the go at the moment, if we go with this bimini we can only have 1 tower speaker on each side

and then one which is 300 ml from the windscreen,

out of these three would you be able to give me the pros and cons of each bimini it would be greatly appriecaited.

go for the on top of the tower with the extension not alot of room under the tower to be moving about. I have an 06 with 4 speakers and lights and it is crowded. Congrats

I have a 247 with the same size bimini that comes with a 23 LSV and its enough shade Like others have mentioned youcan get an extension for the bimini on top of the tower. To get a bimini below that tower would be worse than having the sun beat down on you. ie. having to duck all the time and lack of room.

Get the one on top. We are in Texas and have never had anyone complain about the amount of shade it puts out. We get people that change from front to back during the day but never the whole bunch trying to fit under the bimini. If you think you need more shade or you have people that HAVE to have the shade, you can always get the extension. We have a lady that goes out with us that won't stay in the direct sun for long because of past problems with skin cancer, she doesn't have a problem with the shade the bimini puts out and she stays out with us all day PLUS, she is still white as a ghost.

thanks for all the advice, we are more conserned about shade for the driver then for the rest of the crew, so the extention wouldnt help in that factor,

Being the primary captain on board my boat, the shade from the one on top is great. Unless you live somewhere where the sun is really low in the sky for most of the day (WAY NORTH or WAY SOUTH), it provides plenty of shade... I definitely recommend getting the one on top.

I would add the same. I have not had a problem with getting enough shade as the driver with the bimini on top of the tower.

I have the Extended Bimini on top of the IllusionX on our LSV. It provides plenty of shade. Do a search on Illusion bimini here and you will find pictures of how much coverage it provides on a 23' boat. My Avtar picture does as well. I'm very pleased with my choice.
