WS420 with Black Box?

I'm a bit over my skis on this, but I figure some people must have put in a WS420 with the factory malibu black box? My WS dealer did it for me, all seemed fine for a day and then when I hit the sync button on the Viper3 it went to s***. Clipping, distorted volume, loud pops. When I take out the black box and go straight WS420 to BT everything is great. 

I realize that the output from the Black Box needs to feed one input on the 420 and the other levels need to be turned down on the Malibu mixer. 

As I said, I'm a bit over my skis, but thought I would ask for suggestions. It sounds like a bad black box so I will be getting a new one.

if it is a bad box on warranty, i would remove the EQ configuration install
