Best Setup for 2015 Wakesetter 247 LSV

Recommended Posts

Been trying to find a thread on best setups for 247 and havent found one so apologies if its out there.   If you could point me to it that would be great, if not, would love some advice.

My factory setup has all 4 factory hard tanks and twin 550 plug and plays in rear lockers.   When I had it out last weekend I filled everything full put wedge about 2/3 down and was a good wave but there was some water splashing over surfgate.   only 3 of us on the boat.   10.6 mph.

Any help or thoughts would be great.

Was the water splashing over the surf gate hindering the wave on the surf side? Do you have picture or video of the wave.

With the 247 you have the advantage of the length of the boat to offset the rear weight. You probably don't need much extra bow weight, but you might want to pick up 2-300 pounds of lead to have and move around to tweak the wave. For regular surfers, you might have to offset the boat a bit to the surf side to counter act the prop rotation.

I will take a video and post this weekend.   The water splashing over the surfgate didnt appear to affect the wave but it was my first time to view it so dont have a great frame of reference.

You are on the right thought process. You don't want to sink the gates too far, but I wouldn't think that with just 550's you are sinking too far. There will be some water rolling over the top of it and as long as it isn't onto the surface of the surf wave, I would suspect it is OK.
