Yet another winterization/oil change thread

Recommended Posts

So herey the deal....I've got two more weekend lake trips scheduled, probably put 6 hours total on it.

If the weather goes bad, those trips will be cancelled, so I'm thinking of completing the winterization oil change given I have some warmer temps before the bottom drops out on Thursday

LS-1 partial closed cooling so I only have to drain the fresh water side.

What are the thoughts of putting 6 hours and letting the oil sit for 5 months?

Me too.  Oil and coolant change last week, then out for a ski on Friday morning.  Probably several more trips, too.  I change oil mostly on the hour meter, not what season it is.

@SkiPablo I found another thread on this site where Indmar was referenced as saying synthetic (Mobil 1) 15W-50 works.  This is my first oil change after upgrading from a SSLX to a SSLXI
