guage controller - engine hours not correct

Recommended Posts

I replaced my guage controller in my 99 Sunsetter LX.  With the replacement module the guages work again but the enginer hours did not restore correctly.  There were about 460 hours on the boat when I replaced the guage controller but the hour meter on the tachometer now shows something like 12000 hours.  It seems to be measuring and recording the hours correctly for additional use but the starting point was not coorect.  How can I determine the correct number of engine hourse with the guage no longer reading correctly?  Any ideas?

The ecm keeps the hours, so a mefi-2 scanner can read it.
