New trailer question

Recommended Posts

NAM75

I have a new tandem axle trailer for my Response.

My old trailer was single axle.

1. My front hubs with breaks are warm to the touch... not hot. 30 mile one way with some highway and some stop n go.

I can keep my fingers on them ok. Rear hubs with no brakes are “room temperature”. Is this normal?

2. How level do I need to be. I’m measuring from level driveway to frame in front of each tire. Front tire is about 1” lower.

Should I adjust my hitch drop to level it out?  Depending on what’s in my truck.... that could change some I guess.

Thanks Crew!

1) Wheels with brakes will be warmer than wheels without brakes. The can get very hot with stop and go.

2) is the trailer tongue level when attached to truck?
