91 Malibu Sunsetter

Recommended Posts

I just purchased a 91 Sunsetter with a merc engine. It did not come with any manuls and i was wondering if anybody new where i could get them.

Also where are the engine drains on this engine?

I can't seemed to find where to check the oil either.

This is alot different from my I/O.

Just send an email to Malibu customer service, they helped me out with the same thing last fall when I bought my 02 LSV. They probably can't get you all the manuals, but its a good start. ;)

Since most of your questions are motor related try here and order a manual. :)

As far as engine repair manuals you may be out of luck. I have not seen any Mercury Inboard repair manuals that cover 1991. I searched Clymer and Seloc on Amazon.com and found nothing.

There is one manual that I purchased from Ski Dim that covers PCM Ford and GM carbed engines. It is pretty good. It is a copy of a service manual at an inexpensive price.

I am not sure but I think your boat is equipped with a Ford 351ci engine with a borg-warner 71c transmission.

I've got a 1990 Euro f3 if there's anything I can help with. I ordered a owners manual from Mercury Parts Express (the Mercruiser parts dealer), but it was pretty thin. It did include the vital info though.
